Our History

Cap Info, a passion for Retail and expertise in omnichannel POS at the service of connected retail

At the dawn of the new web era and rise of American start-ups, Alain Rivoire and Stéphane Levet, who held positions of high responsibility at Fnac and Ciat respectively, made a commitment in June 2000, to develop an agile, modern, complete and on-demand software solution for the retail market.

This idea was based on a single premise:  The outdated solutions available on the market or those developed internally by stores on Unix or AS400 systems were no longer suitable for this new and constantly changing world. As with ERP and fully integrated mode approaches, where back office and front office were one, they have lengthy implementation times and lack flexibility.

It was therefore time to counterbalance these approaches and provide a high value-added solution to enable retail stores to exceed their POS sales targets, support sales staff by helping them offer the right product at the right time to the right customer or secure sales transactions.

This humble and common sense approach confirms Cap Info’s current position, as a recognised player on the market and leading Retail Software Publisher Partner, supporting retail stores and brands in their digital transformation and implementation of the omnichannel customer journey throughout which the act of purchasing, from its intention, is converted into a seamless sale.

Signing of the contract with Office Depot to provide it with Cap Info checkout and payment solutions

Verticalisation of offers, especially

Signing of a deployment Partnership for contactless payment and telemetry solutions on the fleet of terminals for the brand, SELECTA

Signing of the CréO Group contract incorporating the brands, Franprix,Leader Price, Naturalia and Thiriet in the West Indies

2017

Launch of a new on-demand offer
in the Fast-food Chain sector

Implementation of the Fast-food Chain offer
at Brut Butcher, part of the Despinasse Group

Implementation of the Omnichannel solution for
the Online and Offline activities of Chaussures Besson

2018

Receipt of Article 88 certification [cash register certification] awarded
by LNE [French National Laboratory for Metrology and Testing] for the checkout solutions

CAP INFO implements a continuous legislative watch procedure and commits to comply with all of the legal certifications required under French law

ARTICLE 88 OF LAW NO. 2015-1785

This law, intended to combat VAT fraud, requires CAP INFO, as a Checkout Software Publisher, to be certified. This certification is managed by the organisation LNE-N°P173961.
